The launch of the platform is approaching but we don't know exactly the name of the token that will be used.

Some people use RAD (very similar to RADS used by Radium) others use RDX.

Should we choose a distinct name for the token used by Radix or just use one of these, what are the pros and cons?

It will have another name, but the name of the commercial is unclear yet.
For discussions on the forum it makes sense to call Radix for the moment, or RDX/RAD... doesn't matter because it will probably change anyway.

Well there is a coin already called Radium which uses I guess that leaves RDX

I was considering proposing that we kept EMU (as it means Electronic Monetary Unit) but that might be confusing.

Any other suggestions, other than RDX or EMU?

emu could be good option if the final name of the public platform will be similar...

    emu: economic monetary unit....
    empl: economic monetary platform?

and, why not, a wink to old eMunie name... :p

Well, if EMU is still on the list being considered... I would prefer EMU instead of RDX personally.

GMU (Global Monetary Unit), from the best company, Radix Global
GEM, plural GEMs (Global Electronic Money) how many Gems you get for 500 USD, 500 GEMs, but soon 1 GEM will be more valuable than 1 USD :)
GEM (gems) easy to remember, the word itself carries value.
UMU (Universal Monetary Unit), universal, I mean used for all kind of purchases, you can buy anything with UMU.
RMU or more easily to pronounce RAMU (Radix Monetary Unit), plural will be RAMUs (ramus means branch, ramus in latin), how much you paid for that ticket? 5 ramus.

Honestly I think EMU would be confusing since we've moved away from the Emunie branding. I like RDX personally.

RDX can be confusing too, if the consumer brand is totally different from Radix.

RDX is too nerdy and just follows the herd about using stupid names for digital assets. Ideally, we need a name that is easy to say and does not hold much alternative meaning. Tho, i quite like EMU as an oddity.

Maybe we can use history for inspiration?

Only liked RAD reminded me of RADaway from Fallout, but RDX sounds better and represents the name of Radix. I grew fond of eMu, but say it out-loud it sounds utterly stupid, you sound like a donkey emu emu.

I think honestly pay somebody $500 to brand these things correctly. Think of most successful products they have normal names. Walmart, Amazon, Facebook, Apple, the only outlier Google, but that was more like creating a new word.

I said it last time, even though the whole domain name issues, which I'm sure you can find some obscure .global .whatever, the best would be eMoney. Simple electronic money. Everyone from age 5-baby boomer can understand the annotation of e for electronic and the word money.

Nobody has to wonder wtf is eMu Radix, Ethereum, ect.

but that's just my 2 cents.

    Please not EMU!
Not only it will be confusing, we might still have a great consumer name "out there" to be discovered.
RDX can work well as place holder, but then we just use the new name.

Unless we keep Radix for both tech and consumer brand, but that's not the idea right?

Why is emu confusing? - other than people (edit: meaning us here, who know the history) associating it with the old emunie?

It will be confusing for new user, even more for the average joe.

Better to have a consistent name and token.
